What is Cordyceps?
The Chinese caterpillar fungus (Cordyceps militaris, Chinese caterpillar fungus, Tibetan caterpillar fungus, Tibetan caterpillar club fungus, puppet core club) is a tubular mushroom from the group of core clubs originating from the highlands of Tibet and has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for over 1000 years and has a prominent role there. The interesting ingredients and the increasing demand for decades led to astronomical prices for this vital mushroom, whose demand can no longer be met exclusively from wild collection.
Its special growing conditions and ingredients make this vital mushroom a desirable and therefore a valuable product.
Internationally, Cordyceps gained special attention when the Chinese Olympians attributed their success at the 1992 Summer Games to, among other things, taking the vital mushroom.
